The RGT-12E reactive power controller from TENSE is a fully automatic and highly accurate controller designed for optimal management of compensation steps in power systems. Thanks to digital measurements, intelligent algorithms, and a graphical LCD display, it ensures a stable power factor, efficient reactive power management, and protection of compensation devices.

Main features and functions

Automatic detection of compensation steps

The controller configures itself upon startup:

• automatically recognizes the size of connected capacitor steps

• parameters can also be entered manually

• the system continuously monitors the status of individual steps

Intelligent on/off control

The controller switches steps on and off so that:

• a stable power factor is achieved with a minimal number of switchings

• individual steps are evenly loaded

• capacitors with the lowest remaining charge have priority

• the status of each step is checked simultaneously (interruptions, power changes, shutdowns, and restarts)

TCR (Thyristor Switched Reactor) support

The controller enables compensation control with thyristor-controlled reactors, which is ideal for:

• industrial applications

• dynamic compensation

• systems with frequent load changes

Advanced measurement and analysis

• measurement of harmonic voltages and currents up to 31st harmonic

• monitoring total energy (import/export)
