Detailed description – time relay with delayed activation ERV-08M (0.1 s – 100 h), Un: 12–230 V AC/DC

The time relay ERV-08M is a universal delay relay designed for controlling delayed activation after power supply is applied. It offers a wide time range from 0.1 seconds to 100 hours, universal power supply 12–230 V AC/DC, easy control, and DIN rail mounting.

Suitable for automation applications, controlling fans, motors, lighting, contactors, and other loads requiring delayed switching.

Control and functions

LED indication

• ON (red) – relay is powered

• OUT (green, steady on) – output relay is engaged (contact 2–3 connected)

• OUT (green, blinking) – countdown to activation is in progress

Time adjustment

The time relay allows precise delay setting using two potentiometers:

1. Potentiometer "t" (0.1 to 10)
   – fine adjustment in % of the total range
   – 0.1 = 1%, 10 = 100%

2. Potentiometer "TS" – range selection:

   • A = 10 seconds

   • B = 100 seconds

   • C = 10 minutes

   • D = 100 minutes

   • E = 10 hours

   • F = 100 hours

Time change is activated at the next power connection.

Switching functions

1) ON Delay – delayed activation (terminals 2–3, NO)

• Countdown of the set time starts upon power connection

• At the end of the time, the output relay Out (RLY) is activated – closes contact 2–3 (NO → COM)

2) OFF Delay using NC contact (terminals 2–1)

• Contact 2–1 (NC) is closed even without power

• Countdown starts upon power connection

• After its expiration, the contacts will open 1–2

Application

The ERV-08M time relay is used in applications where delayed activation of the load is required after a certain event occurs:

• The fan turns on only after the light is switched on (WC, bathroom)

• Garage or hallway lighting after door opening

• Gradual motor starts

• Delayed contactor activation

• Gradual switching on of multiple circuits

• Delayed device starts

The countdown timer always starts upon power supply connection to the relay.
